Jessica Sherif is a writer, director, and producer who crafts joyful, sharp, and emotionally grounded stories about identity and connection, often featuring assertive women who challenge the expectations placed on them.
On the narrative side, Jessica’s short films have screened at more than 40 festivals, and her screenwriting has been recognized by The Black List and the Tribeca Creators Market.
She wrote and directed the romantic comedy Chatter (Audience Award, DC Shorts), and directed the comedy Lady Parts (Best Narrative at both HollyShorts and Tallgrass), the fantasy In Hollywoodland (premiered at Bentonville), and the upcoming comedy Egghead.
On the documentary side, Jessica has co-created series and films for networks like Netflix, Hulu, A&E, CBC Gem and Tubi, which often tell the stories of groundbreaking athletes or cultural pioneers.
Selected works include Right to Offend: The Black Comedy Revolution, a docuseries tracing the history of Black comedians, and its under-appreciated legacy of driving social change, which premiered at Tribeca, and Under Pressure: The U.S. Women’s World Cup Team, an inside look at the USWNT’s high-stakes 2023 World Cup run.
Jessica also writes, directs, and produces branded content for entertainment, travel, lifestyle and social impact clients. She brings the same humor, heart, and character-driven storytelling found in her filmmaking to every campaign.
She speaks 4 languages, carries 3 nationalities, holds 2 law degrees, and co-parents, with her husband, 1 very opinionated dog named Ziggy Stardust.
